Nicholas Barber ’23
Merrimack Alum Pursues Law School Degree
Nick is currently a student enrolled in the Northeastern School of Law. A double major of political science and history, and minors that consisted of pre-law, women and gender studies, & law, ethics, and society set Barber up to follow his dreams of becoming an attorney. “While I only graduated a few months ago, I attribute all the knowledge I gained both in and out of the classroom at Merrimack to my feeling confidence in starting law school in a few weeks at Northeastern.”
Barber remembers the first time he toured the campus and how at home he felt. “My tour guide did not feel scripted but rather eager to show me around campus. It allowed me to make an immediate connection. I loved the size of the school; small enough to always run into people you know but big enough to always be able to meet new people. There also seemed to be so many avenues to get involved at Merrimack, something I definitely took advantage of when I came here.”
“From the very first time I toured Merrimack, it just felt more genuine than anywhere else I had gone to.”
Barber was a very active member of Merrimack College’s campus. He participated in the student government association as president, the honors program, NSLS, active minds, student ambassadors, OSI worker, club baseball, love your melon,pre-law society, & ODK.
“Peter Rojas taught me how to take things one step at a time to make sure things are done right. Through my work with him in SGA while he was our advisor, he helped me navigate the big projects we sought out to achieve by taking things step by step, making sure everything was covered and done right as opposed to getting lost by only seeing the big picture.”
