Did you take advantage of any internships while you were a student at Merrimack?

During the fall semester of my senior year (2016), I scored a position as a public relations intern at Regan Communications, a PR agency in Boston. I stayed on for the spring semester and ended up transitioning into a full-time Account Coordinator role right after graduation in 2017. I took a new position at Connelly Partners in the fall of 2019, as I really wanted the opportunity to dive further into the influencer marketing industry, while still keeping PR and social media part of my day-to-day.

How did your Merrimack experiences prepare you for that work?

Throughout most of my college career, I was lucky enough to serve as a Staff Writer, Features & Social Media Editor and Executive Editor (during my senior year) for The Beacon. My leadership roles at The Beacon, Merrimack’s student newspaper, truly prepared me for my career path ahead. I had to learn how to multitask my school work with editing for the paper, managing a team and how to stay organized. These experiences, along with the three PR/social media-related internships I participated in throughout college, were fundamental in preparing me for my roles after college, and my current role at Connelly Partners.

Do you have any particularly fond memories of Merrimack to share?

While it’s easy to say that I loved being a member of the close-knit community at Merrimack, I’m so thankful for my time spent with The Beacon staff. We grew together, learned together, and got the best work done together. The friendships I gained from participating in The Beacon were unmatched, and we all still keep in touch as great friends to this day!
