At Merrimack, your degree isn’t just a credential—it’s a tactical advantage.
Our programs blend theory with real-world application, preparing veterans for leadership roles.
Whether you’re advancing in the civilian workforce or the military, these degrees elevate your leadership portfolio, and post-service career options.
At Merrimack, we offer a wide range of degree options to support your academic and career ambitions:
Merrimack College was founded in 1947 by the Order of St. Augustine to educate returning World War II veterans for the post-war workforce. We are dedicated to supporting the transition of veterans and military-affiliated students to Merrimack College in pursuit of academic and professional success, including:
The College has remained true to that mission for successive generations of military men and women, including today’s veterans of the Global War on Terror.
Eligible veterans using the Post‑9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) receive up to 100% coverage on tuition and fees. Merrimack participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program to cover a portion of the remaining costs—in most cases, there is no out-of-pocket tuition expense for graduate or undergraduate programs.
Active reservists may be able to receive significant monthly stipends toward tuition as part of Chapter 1606 benefits (Montgomery GI Bill® Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)).
If you’re the spouse or child of a Veteran who has died, is missing, or has a permanent and total service-connected disability, you may be able to receive help paying for school through Chapter 35 (Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program) benefits, which include significant monthly stipends toward tuition.
Please note that benefit amount varies based on education type, eligibility factors and chosen course-load.

Active-duty service members may be able to combine Department of Defense (DoD) Tuition Assistance (up to $4,500/year) with Veteran Affairs (VA) Top-Up benefits to fully fund their graduate or undergraduate coursework.
Your military training and experience can qualify for academic credit, accelerating your path to graduation.

Merrimack was an awesome school even when I was in college. I learned that Merrimack has one of the top programs for health promotion and management. I thought, 'They’re on the way home from work? This is great!'
