Position Overview

The purpose of this position will be to assist with the operations of multiple grants/projects that are within the Center for Health Inclusion Research and Practice (CHIRP). This is a part-time, grant-funded position, contingent upon external funding.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting CHIRP Director, Principal Investigators, and the CHIRP Research Manager.
  • Supervision and management of research assistants including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Assist the CHIRP Research Manager in day-to-day operations of the CHIRP, including contracts, procurement of equipment & supplies, communication materials development.
  • Assist in community engagement and outreach to engage with internal and external partners at Merrimack College and CHIRP.
  • Assist with data collection, coding, analysis, manuscripts, and presentations. Also assist with conducting interviews and consents/assents and other applicable study screenings.
  • Assist with the development of protocols, IRB submissions, compliance reviews, grant reports, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with project set-up and management in REDCap.
  • Assist with grant budget management

Qualifications:

  • Master’s level preferred, Bachelor’s required.
  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills – detail oriented
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to communicate successfully with team members, students, faculty and administrators
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and juggle competing priorities
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Operational and project management experience, preferably in a research environment
  • Supervising and management experience such as recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating
  • Experience with database and reporting software
  • Experience with IRB submissions and modifications preferred
  • Budgeting, purchase and ordering experience

This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
