- Graduate Ambassador, M.S., Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program
Amanda is a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Merrimack. She has bachelor of science degrees in elementary education and psychology. After graduating from undergrad in 2017, she taught 6th-grade special education in Dorchester, Ma. Her work as a special-education teacher made her realize that she wanted to work with kids in a therapeutic setting.
In addition to graduate school, she works full time at Walden Behavioral Care, a therapeutic program primarily dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders. She is passionate about working with children and families. In the future, she hopes to work with individuals recovering from trauma and to study resiliency in childhood trauma survivors.
