Sean Bixby

Lecturer in Cartooning and Illustration

Visual & Performing Arts

Sean grew up in Merrimac, MA and began drawing at an early age. Inspiration came from comic books, cartoons and the backyard he explored. Years later, his passion for art led him to the Hartford Art School, where he further developed his style. He found success with both 2D and 3D illustration. His paintings landed him the award winning children’s books The Uncrossable Canyon and the sequel The Goblin’s Story. Mr. Bixby’s sculptures have been featured at the prestigious Society of Illustrators in Manhattan and the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover. He is also an experienced educator currently teaching various art courses at the high school and college level.
