Workshop Description: How you interpret and make sense of events is a juncture point where emotional resilience increases or depletes. You make the choice of what story to tell. When you tell empowering stories, your optimism may expand, and optimism is a key trait of resilient people. We are social beings, and we need each other to thrive. A strong, healthy community can bolster us through challenging moments, and bring joy into our lives. When we build community, we build empathy for each other; and building empathy for each other helps us build community.

Presenter Biography: Stephanie Letourneau is a certified mindfulness instructor and public school teacher with over 20 years of experience. In addition, she is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) and is currently enrolled in the Brain Longevity Teacher Training through Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation. Stephanie also works as an adjunct professor for Merrimack College.

Certificates of participation (1.5 hours) will be provided to you following the workshop. This event is free and open to Merrimack College students, alumni, and the external community. Light refreshments will be served. Space is limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible with your information below! Additional event details and other logistics (i.e. parking map) will be communicated to you closer to the event.
