The Interdisciplinary Institute along with the Social Justice Program and the Political Science Department are sponsoring the first National Issues Forum on Structural Racism and the Case for Reparations. We will open the forum with an overview of the concept and history of structural racism and an account of this structure in the South. This overview and the exploration of the ethical considerations will provide the foundation for the case for reparations as restorative justice. The forum will also include a discussion of policy options to implement reparations. There will be significant time for participants to interact with discussants. Faculty are welcome to bring their class.
