Professor, Women’s and Gender Studies
My research and writing have included a comparative analysis of gender and resistance, with special attention to the role of grassroots organizing and social movements Israel, Palestine and the North of Ireland. My other research interests have included the militarization and masculinities, especially the interplay between political violence and gender-based violence and strategies to violent men and cultivate nonviolent masculinities. I am the co-founder of Faculty Against Rape, a volunteer-run national collective advocating for an increased role of faculty in the struggle to confront sexual assault on college campuses.
