Katherine Gundersen

M.A., Spiritual Direction, 2023

Katherine Gundersen is an alumna of the M.A. in Spiritual Direction program. She started her professional career in mechanical engineering, where she worked at Westinghouse and IBM.

Katherine’s decision to pursue a master’s degree in Spiritual Direction was driven by her desire to deepen her faith and expand her understanding of Spiritual Direction. Her time at Merrimack has been notably positive with a particular appreciation for our exemplary faculty.

Reflecting on her journey, Kathrine states, “I learned to be more respectful of differences in faith traditions and that even though we might be different, we can still be very respectful.”

“Merrimack is providing me with the exact program, learning and growth environment, and resources with great faculty that I was looking for at this transition time in my life.”

Looking ahead, Kathrine intends to apply her degree by continuing her work as a Spiritual Director and aspiring to secure a teaching position.
