Open to all majors, the Merrimack Investment Fund is a student organization responsible for managing an equity portfolio.
Our Mission
The Merrimack Investment Fund seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation while offering a chance for motivated students to experience first-hand investment decisions that will be transferable to real-life applications.
What You’ll Learn
Participation in the Fund gives you the opportunity to develop investment research skills and gain portfolio management experience – highly sought-after skills in the investment industry.
As a member of the organization you will:
- Get hands-on experience making real investment decisions to manage a portfolio.
- Use Bloomberg and other tools/resources available in the Mucci Capital Markets Lab to conduct appropriate fundamental and quantitative analysis to prepare your investment decisions.
- Gain experience working in a team environment to make group decisions.
Research Tools/Methods
Bloomberg – Delivers business and markets news, including real-time financial data, trading news, and analyst coverage through the 24 Bloomberg terminals located in the Mucci Capital Markets Lab.
Morningstar – Provides data and research insights on a wide range of investment offerings, including managed investment products, publicly listed companies, private capital markets, and real-time global market data.
S&P Capital IQ – Provides data on public and private companies, investment firms, capital transactions, and people. Offers sophisticated tools for complex financial statement analysis, comparables analysis, financial modeling, sector analysis, and charting.
