Graduate Fellowships in Mechanical Engineering

Graduate Fellowships in the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering are highly competitive opportunities that build and enhance your professional and research skills while defraying tuition costs. 

The Mechanical Engineering graduate fellowship is designed specifically for students enrolled in the Thesis Option in our Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering

The fellowship provides 100% graduate tuition coverage and requires a 2-year, 20-hour-per-week, unpaid placement as a graduate research assistant alongside an esteemed faculty member from the School of Engineering and Computational Sciences.

Fellowship Position Details

As a fellow, you’ll join our dynamic research team as a Graduate Research Assistant in the School of Engineering and Computational Sciences, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge research projects. As a key member of the research team, you will work closely with esteemed faculty to contribute to groundbreaking discoveries in the field of mechanical engineering.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting experimental research, data collection, and analysis in various engineering domains.
  • Assisting in designing and building prototypes, conducting tests, and optimizing systems.
  • Collaborating with faculty on research proposals, publications, and presentations.
  • Mentoring undergraduate students and contributing to a collaborative research environment.
  • Staying abreast of the latest advancements in engineering

Position requirements:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic research environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a research team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

  4. Receive your admission decision. If admitted to the master’s program, you’ll receive further instructions about the fellowship process.

Additional Fellowship Information

  • Please note that if you accept a fellowship position, you will not be eligible for any other discounts or scholarships, including the merit-based Dean scholarship or the Double Warrior alumni scholarship. 
  • Students choosing the Thesis Option who are not offered a fellowship will also be automatically considered for our Dean and Double Warrior scholarships. No additional application is needed.
  • Students choosing the Project Option are not eligible for a fellowship, but will automatically be considered for our Dean and Double Warrior scholarships. No additional application is needed.
