Providing a Safe Environment

Merrimack College is committed to offering a safe, secure, and professional learning and working environment for our entire community, including employees, volunteers, students and visitors.

To achieve this goal, we require the successful completion of a background check in hiring all new employees and volunteers. Current employees who apply to different positions at the college will also undergo a background check.

Some positions with access to students or significant financial assets will be subject to enhanced background checks.

Background checks will be conducted in compliance with federal and state regulations and may include verification of credentials, criminal history, employment, education, driving record and other information related to the position sought or currently held.
