Alumni Oral History Project

Alumni Oral History Project: Celebrating 75 Years

Join us in preserving Merrimack College’s history.

The Project

In preparation for Merrimack College’s 75th anniversary, we invite all alumni to participate in the creation of a history publication that unites Warriors across generations. The project is an opportunity to gather stories and collect memories that bring the Merrimack College experience to life. We are interested in your reflections and tributes, and we hope that this endeavor will preserve Merrimack College’s history for generations to come.

Your Story

What Merrimack College story will you tell? What memory is most special? It can be serious or lighthearted, a heart-felt tribute or with a bit of humor. The experiences of Merrimack College alumni are unique, and variety is welcomed.

  • What made you choose Merrimack?
  • Did a professor, staff member or Augustinian have a profound impact on your life?
  • Did you make a connection on campus that led to love or lifelong friendship?
  • Was there a special experience at Merrimack that made a long-term impact on your career and/or life after graduation?
  • When you think back on your time at Merrimack, what makes you smile?

Frequently Asked Questions

I received an email/postcard/phone call from a company asking for my personal information and a story about Merrimack College. Is this a legitimate project or is it a scam?

It’s legit! We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce an Oral History Publication for Merrimack College.

PCI is a family-owned business based in Dallas, TX that has published directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations across the nation for almost 100 years. This project allows Merrimack College to hear about your personal experiences and explain how Merrimack College has helped shape your life.

How can I participate and/or update my information?

PCI will contact Merrimack College alumni directly through postcards, emails and phone calls to encourage participation.

If you would like to verify or update your information and share a story, you can do this by:

  • Option 1: If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the Oral History Project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you, make any updates where needed, then ask you to share your story about your time at Merrimack College. Your story will be recorded and the sound clip provided to Merrimack College at the conclusion of the project.
  • Option 2: If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information and submit a story.
  • Option 3: Alumni can call the dedicated Merrimack College phone line at 1-855-890-9270 to speak with a representative regarding the Oral History Project.

Final publication will be delivered in book and digital formats in June 2022 to purchasing alumni.

Do I have to buy something?

No. The project is completely funded by the alumni who choose to purchase the oral history book that will be produced as part of the project. Various book packages will be offered to you, and PCI also will offer you the option to purchase Merrimack College branded merchandise. You are welcome to purchase some or all of these items, but you are not required to do so to participate. This project is being done at no cost to Merrimack College. We would not be able to embark on a project like this without the support of our amazing alumni and the partnership with PCI. We sincerely thank every person that participates and chooses to purchase the book.

This project is completely funded by the alumni who choose to purchase memorabilia or reserve the publication as a hardbound book or digital collection at the end of the project.

*Merrimack does not make any money from the sales of the book or merchandise.

Does Merrimack benefit from this project at all?

Yes, in a few different ways:

  1. Legacy: Preserves the oral history of Merrimack College
  2. Updated Information: Allows us to effectively communicate with and engage alumni

*Merrimack does not make any money from the sales of the book or merchandise.
