From move-in day to graduation day (and every day in between), Merrimack is full of traditions that will make your college years memorable. Our traditions help bring our community together in fun and interesting ways that you can share with friends and family, or come back as alumni and continue to enjoy for years to come!
Whether you want to help out or have fun, you’re sure to find a tradition that speaks to you! Explore some of our favorites below:
Fall Block Party
What better way to say welcome back to campus than with free giveaways, food trucks, and fireworks?! The Fall Block Party kicks off the semester and welcomes all students, faculty/staff, and families to celebrate the new academic year.
Macktoberfest
Macktoberfest kicks off Homecoming Weekend with a performance from the dance team and marching band, free food, and live music from local artists. Stop by for tasty treats, fun giveaways, and get hyped for Homecoming weekend!
Homecoming Weekend
Show your family and home friends what being a Warrior is all about! Attend one, or all, of our athletic events going on, but definitely don’t miss the football game on Saturday! Students and families tailgate before the game, and inside the stadium you’ll find food and a beer garden for anyone 21+. Merrimack's Homecoming Weekend brings our community together and shows off that “We Are One” mentality!
Mack Gives Back
Being a Warrior means giving back to our community. Mack Gives Back is a long-lasting tradition commemorating two days of significance in Merrimack's history—Veterans Day and St. Augustine’s birthday. Mack Gives Back transitioned to providing meals to nearby food pantries and soup kitchens. We partnered with the Outreach Program, a meal packaging nonprofit that delivered food directly to Merrimack’s campus.
Light and Hope
A Warrior favorite, Light & Hope marks the beginning of the holiday season at Merrimack. Come and join us as we light the tree and enjoy winter festivities such as ice skating, horse-drawn carriage rides, live musical performances, and more!
Cram Jam
Take a break from studying for finals and grab some late-night breakfast food! Cram Jam is a tradition that takes place during finals week each semester, with games, giveaways and great food that satisfies those late-night cravings.
Spring Concert and Spring Weekend
Catch a concert in Lawler Rink! The Spring Concert kicks off Spring Weekend, and we’ve welcomed artists like Jason Derulo, Two Friends, Chase Rice, Flo Rida and Fetty Wap to Merrimack. Each year, Warriors enter their vote to decide who will be the next performer!
