The Campus Network Infrastructure provides network connectivity for all campus computing resources. Most rooms and offices on campus have a high-speed network connection dedicated to a particular segment of the network (VLAN). Inter-VLAN traffic is enabled as necessary.

The Domain Name System (DNS) provides easy-to-remember names for computers on the network (Ex., blackboard.merrimack.edu).

Network Storage

(Also known as: H: drive, S: drive, SAN)

Eligible: Merrimack College Community

Availability: 24 Hours, Daily

Support: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Network Storage provides users with secure, reliable, and archived centralized disk storage on the campus network. This disk storage is usually accessible by authorized users from any computer on campus. This storage is limited and should be used for classwork and essential documents only. It is not an appropriate place to store multimedia files.

(Note: Your Google Drive may be a better alternative in many cases.)

Sample uses:

All students and employees have network storage available for their exclusive use (H: drive).

Most departments have a shared S: drive setup to share files with other authorized users.

How to request this service: call 978 837-3500 (x3500) or email AskIT@Merrimack.edu.

Restrictions: Student H: drive access is being phased out.
