Charlie Day’s Special Message to the Class of 2020
Class of 2014 Commencement Speaker
Day delivered the keynote address at Merrimack’s 64th undergraduate commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2014. He delighted a packed Lawler Arena audience with his humor, but ended with a serious message for graduates, telling them to take risks and not fear failure: “I don’t think you should just do what makes you happy,” he said. “Do what makes you great.”
Merrimack President Christopher E. Hopey awarded an honorary doctorate of performing arts to Day during the ceremony.
