The Space Between Things Exhibition Premieres at the McCoy Art Gallery

On September 15, the McCoy Art Gallery will kick off the 2023-2024 season with its inaugural show: The Space Between Things. Featuring brand new artwork by three Boston-area artists, the show is curated by Jonathan Latiano, Director of the Art and Art History program at Merrimack College.

Merrimack College’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) has a long history of welcoming outside artists, designers, and performers to engage with students, faculty, and the broader Merrimack community. Nancy Wynn Curated COVID-19 Art Exhibit

The need to make artwork and share it with others has long been a driving force for Associate Professor Nancy Wynn, MFA. She first shared her photographs documenting ballet classes over thirty years ago. Recently, she continued that tradition with new work she exhibited in the Clare Gallery, at the St. Patrick-St. Anthony Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry in Hartford, CT.

Hugh Hinton Receives National Choral Conducting Prize

The American Guild of Organists is honoring Hugh Hinton, director of campus music activities at Merrimack College, as the winner of the 2021 Choir Master Prize in choral conducting. This award is given each year to the person who earns the top score in the National Choir Master certification examination.

Merrimack Alumnus, Artist Brings Together Sport and Activism

Eamon White ’13 is an artist, activist and educator whose work has been featured nationally. His portraits have gone viral online and, as a former football player and present-day coach, he is well known for hand-painting cleats and sneakers for players in the NFL.

Graphic Design Student Self-Publishes Book

Senior Harrison Markowsky ’21, a graphic design major in Merrimack College’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts wrote, illustrated and published a children’s book about squirrels.

Student Artists Reflect On COVID-19: It’s OK To Not Be OK

Merrimack student artists kicked off a new exhibition, “It’s OK To Not Be OK,” with a virtual opening on Friday, April 2. Housed in McCoy Gallery, the show features work from a newly offered fall 2020 course and grapples with everything from life during the pandemic, to civil rights and the rise of blind patriotism in the U.S. The exhibition will run through Friday, April 16.
