Chemistry and Biochemistry
What Are Chemistry and Biochemistry?
Chemistry is the study of matter — anything that has mass and occupies space — and the changes it can undergo. Biochemistry looks at the chemical processes within and related to living organisms. Since everything is made of chemicals, studying ideas and techniques in chemistry and biochemistry helps us better understand the world around us.
When you study chemistry and biochemistry, you will learn about chemical principles, both theoretical and practical and perform laboratory work. Graduates are prepared to either enter directly into the chemical industry or to pursue advanced studies in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, medicine, dentistry or veterinary science.
