Why Study Chemistry and Biochemistry?
Chemistry is the study of matter — anything that has mass and occupies space — and the changes and interactions it undergoes. Biochemistry studies the chemistry of life processes, exploring how life works at the chemical level.
Chemistry and Biochemistry Majors
At Merrimack College, you can pursue a chemistry major or get your bachelor of arts in biochemistry or bachelor of science in biochemistry. You’ll study the theoretical and practical bases of chemical principles while performing laboratory work. This will prepare you for a job in the chemical industry or for advanced studies in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary science or other related subjects.
