Student Success Coaching

We are expanding our approach to student success to ensure that every single student has someone looking out for them every step of the way.

Mission

Merrimack’s mission is to enlighten minds, engage hearts and empower lives. This means we are fully committed to you and your success beyond what you do in the classroom.

Our new approach to student success means every student will have a dedicated coach to serve as your personal support system during your four years at Merrimack. Success coaches are part of Merrimack’s larger commitment to setting students on a path toward career readiness.

How Does It Work?

In addition to a traditional academic advisor, you’ll be assigned your very own success coach. Our team of coaches go through rigorous, holistic cross-training in areas such as academic support, career readiness, financial wellness, accessibility services, cultural sensitivity, wellness and mental health. Starting the summer before your freshman year, you will be connected with your coach who will help in your transition to college.

What Does Your Success Coach Do?

  • Serve as your point person, mentor, advocate and navigator
  • Help you transition to college life before you even arrive on campus
  • Provide resources, assistance and advice on everything from starting a club to managing stress

The Result

Every student has someone looking out for them; a built-in support system beyond just academics that will set you up for a successful and fulfilling college experience that launches you into a flourishing career.
