Employee Resource Groups (ERG)
There are several staff and faculty employee resource groups that have been active on campus, creating space for like-minded people to connect with and support one another and to explore ways to collaborate with student groups that share their identities and passion. Each group also focuses on ways to support the recruitment, retention, professional development, and career advancement of employees who share these identities.
First Generation Faculty and Staff
The mission of First Generation ERG is dedicated to supporting and mentoring all First Generation Faculty, Staff and Students at Merrimack. The First Generation ERG to foster networking, professional development, mentoring, and leadership opportunities with a focus on the recruitment, retention, learning, and advancement of faculty and staff at Merrimack College who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC).
International Faculty and Staff
The mission of International ERG is to create a knowledge and resource pool from their experiences regarding unique challenges international employees face at Merrimack, to provide support for various communities at Merrimack including International students and scholars, to create a culturally diverse campus environment, and to provide a forum for socialization for new and continuing International employees.
LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff
The mission of the LGBTQIA+ ERG is to promote an inclusive community for lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, and queer employees. The LGBTQIA+ ERG will serve as a visible, accessible resource for LGBTQIA+ employees and their allies and will provide LGBTQIA+ focused networking, educational, and social opportunities for the Merrimack community.
Merrimack Professionals of Color (MPOC)
The mission of MPOC ERG is to foster networking, professional development, mentoring, and leadership opportunities with a focus on the recruitment, retention, learning, and advancement of faculty and staff at Merrimack College who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC). MPOC aims to increase awareness of cultural differences and advocate on the behalf of the BIPOC community within Merrimack.
Staff and Faculty Disability Access & Neurodiverse Group
The mission of the Disability, Access, & Neurodiverse ERG is to advance the awareness and inclusion for people with disabilities on campus and recognize the wonderful and complex differences in the way we think, feel, socialize, and learn. This Disability, Access, & Neurodiverse ERG will promote a supportive network and serve to help individuals come together in an environment that is inclusive and works to be accessible for all. This group will encourage all individuals to be open about their strengths and challenges.
