Resa Blatman is a visual artist working in a variety of media including installations, paintings, and drawings. Her work calls on poetry, science, and nature for its inspiration. Using nuanced, obsessive mark-making, she makes paintings, drawings, and mixed-media installations about the shifting climate that is unpredictable, yet captivating and beautiful. The works presented in this exhibition continue those explorations, walking the delicate line between humankind’s ultimate place within a vast universe and the subtle, tiny influences that affect people’s everyday lives. It mourns the wounded Earth, while underscoring the idea that humanity’s own stubbornness may be its eventual fate.
