The Danu

Most people stay in a hotel because they are traveling or making a stop before they head home. My goal is to achieve standard guest satisfaction while addressing sustainability issues. My Senior Capstone Project consists of a hotel that embodies the environmental justice theme of climate change. The hotel will be designed and manufactured with sustainable materials. While this hotel concept is speculative, the idea is that the materials used to create the hotel would be sustainable. The promotional pieces would also be sustainably designed and produced. The hotel creates an environment where people can live luxuriously while also living sustainably. This hotel is marketed to be a national hotel chain founded in Boston—a world-class city that just happens to be where I live.

The purpose of this hotel is to encourage sustainable living. By using innovative approaches to marketing, packaging, and building The Danu positively contributes to the environment. The effects of climate change have become more noticeable in recent years. Most hotels have a habit of overusing materials and throwing too much away. The hotel’s experience will showcase the importance of sustainability but also give guests a glimpse of what living sustainably feels like. By utilizing marketing and brand identity, and by researching national brands, this project highlights the importance of environmentalism and sustainability. I created an experience that is comfortable, educational and makes guests return for more.

Marketing Info: The Danu, a large number of green initiatives are implemented throughout the hotel including Renewable Energy, Water Conservation, Waste Reduction, and Locally Sourced Cuisine. Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure, The Danu offers an unparalleled experience that combines luxury, sustainability, and urban sophistication. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Boston while knowing that your stay is contributing to a brighter, greener future for generations to come.
