Merrimack’s Film Collection

The Tambakos Film Collection proudly presents a series of classic Hollywood films as part of the Rogers Center for the Arts programming.

In addition to films from the Tambakos collection, the series features new releases and old favorites.

All films are open to the public and are free of charge.

About the Collection

To commemorate his friend and colleague Demmy (Peter) Tambakos ’74, playwright and actor George Furth (1932-2008) donated his extensive film collection and an endowment fund to Merrimack College. Mr. Furth enjoyed a successful career in Hollywood as a writer and actor (“Shampoo,” “Blazing Saddles”) and on Broadway, including collaborations with Stephen Sondheim on such masterpieces as “Company” and “Merrily We Roll Along.” He was a member of the Motion Picture Academy and won two Tony awards.
