Building Community, Reaching for Justice Speaker Series Continues at Merrimack College

Bob Lanzoni, executive director for Bread and Roses soup kitchen in Lawrence, Mass. is the guest speaker for the Building Community, Reaching for Justice Speaker Series, on Wednesday, March 4, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Lanzoni will reflect on the more than 30 years of service Bread and Roses has given to thousands of people in the Merrimack Valley since its inception in 1980.  Guided by a spirit of hospitality, non-violence, and respect for the dignity of each person who enters, Bread and Roses strives to provide a well-balanced, nutritious evening meal to its guests.

The Building Community, Reading for Justice Speaker Series was established to provide opportunities for experts in community engagement and related fields to discuss critical issues with students and the greater community.  It is sponsored by the Merrimack College Community Engagement Graduate Program and the School of Education and Social Policy.

All events for this speaker series are free and open to the public.

Future speakers in this series are: Dr. Charlie Clements, director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, Harvard Kennedy School of Government on April 8; and Jenna Russell, Boston Globe journalist on April 30.
