Women’s Golf Puts Together Exceptional Two Days to Win Stonehill Invitational

Led by all-tournament team performances from Jacquelyn Stiles, Yiting Pan and Prakruthi Sastry, the Merrimack College women's golf team dominated the field at the Stonehill Invitational at Dorset Field Club.

The Warriors jumped out to a 32-shot lead in the opening round on Sunday, Oct. 3, thanks to a dazzling +2 round of 72 from Stiles that put her alone in second place in the tournament. Stiles had six birdies during the round, including two back-to-back birdies to start out the day and four in her first seven holes.

Pan was just two shots off Stiles’ pace thanks to a 74 that included a final 11 holes where she played to one under par.

On Monday, Oct. 4, Sastry showed resiliency to climb into the Individual Top-5. After an opening round 79, she fought through wet conditions in the second day to card an 80 which bumped her up a couple spots into fifth place to claim the all-tournament team honor.

Overall, the team claimed a 52-shot victory.
