  1. Please describe what you are doing for your internship title?

As a Graphic Design Intern at Safran Space and Defense, I collaborate with various departments to create graphics, social media content, product launch materials, and trade show collateral that enhance brand visibility and support company initiatives.

  1. What skills have you learned during your internship experience and title?

During my internship, I have strengthened my self-advocacy, multitasking, and time management skills while further enhancing my proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite.

  1. Can you please share at least one challenging experience for you during your internship?

A challenging aspect of my internship has been learning to effectively communicate about projects via email, often interpreting requests with minimal information. This becomes especially stressful when working on high-priority projects with tight deadlines, requiring quick problem-solving and clear communication to ensure expectations are met.

  1. Can you please share at least one wonderfully surprising moment for you during your internship?

This internship has been an incredibly valuable experience, pushing me out of my design comfort zone and allowing me to collaborate with individuals I never expected to work with. It has been eye-opening, expanding my perspective on design and its role in a corporate setting.

  1. What is a piece of advice that you would like to give to other students looking into an internship and why are these internship opportunities important?

Internships are so helpful and important for students, by providing an opportunity to develop technical skills and gain firsthand experience in their chosen field. If you’re struggling to secure one, don’t give up – while the process can be discouraging, the right opportunity will come, and someone will recognize your potential. Also make sure to use Merrimack’s resources, internship opportunities are frequently shared with us students through your email, that is how I found mine!
