Retreats
Retreats are a time to step away from college life and stressors to relax and reflect on our relationship with God, self and others.
Retreats are offered throughout the year and can be found in This Week in Campus Ministry. Students of all faith traditions are welcome.
LAUNCH: First Year Retreat
Offered within the first couple weeks of classes, this first year retreat is focused on building connections with fellow classmates at Toah Nipi Retreat Center. During this overnight weekend, we spend time in reflection, recreation and relaxation. Led by upperclassmen, LAUNCH is a great way for first-year students to make connections at the start of their college careers.
Welcoming the Word: Advent Retreat
Held at St. Ambrose Friary, this evening of reflection during the Advent Season helps prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ at Christmas and in our hearts.
Senior Retreat
Offered in the Spring, this weekend retreat is built for graduating seniors to reflect on their experience at Merrimack as well as their goals and hopes for the future.
Welcoming the Light: Lent Retreat
This evening of reflection during the Lent Season helps us enter into the experience of the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ.
Weekend Among Men
During a weekend in the Fall at a retreat house in New Hampshire, this retreat focuses on hiking, eating meals together, and engaging in conversation around campfires on topics about friendship, faith and other concerns among men on college campuses today.
Engage Hearts Retreat: Women’s Retreat
During a weekend in the Spring, this women’s retreat dives into what it means to be a woman in today’s society and on a college campus. Held at Rolling Ridge Retreat Center in North Andover.
Weekly Spiritual Development
Various groups meet throughout the week for conversation, prayer, and learning. See This Week in Campus Ministry to stay up to date.
- Rosary Group: Join us weekly to learn and pray the Rosary, one of the special prayer traditions of the Catholic Church. Guides of how to pray are provided.
- Kingdom Builders Bible Study: Meeting weekly that includes fellowship, we discuss different passages from the bible and how they apply to our daily life.
- Shared Prayer: During this moment of prayer, we share our response to the prompt, “where have you seen God this week?”
- Emmaus: This group meets to discuss ways we can live out our faith on campus and invite others into practicing their faith.
