Prayer Spaces

All Are Welcome

Merrimack maintains three campus prayer spaces for students and employees of all faith traditions.

Chapel of Our Mother of Good Counsel

Second floor, Austin Hall

Appropriately situated in Austin Hall, which o riginally housed Augustinian members of the Merrimack faculty, the Chapel of Our Mother of Good Counsel serves as the college’s main worship space.  Its simple elegance, punctuated by yellow stained-glass windows, slate flooring and modest wooden pews, makes it the ideal setting for weekday and Sunday Masses.

Marian E. Taylor Chapel of St. Augustine

Third floor, Sakowich Campus Center

Dedicated in 2001, the chapel is a gift of Kenneth J. Taylor ’63 and his wife, Sandra, in memory of Kenneth Taylor’s mother, Marian E. Taylor, a lifelong Augustinian from Lawrence, Massachusetts.  Its two stained-glass windows, chapel door and altar were in the chapel of Gildea Hall prior to its renovation and renaming.

Common Prayer Room

Second floor, Sakowich Campus Center

Dedicated in 2014, the Common Prayer Room welcomes spiritual seekers from all religious traditions to an environment in which they can freely find and follow their spiritual paths.  The room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is accessible by swiping a valid MackCard.

Masses During Academic Year

Masses are open to the public and to members of all faith traditions.
