Our Approach to Learning

All programs in the School of Health Sciences emphasize the scientific process - we use independent and collaborative investigative approaches in the laboratory, encourage scientific communication and offer senior thesis research, internships and practica.

STEM Requirements

We also serve the college as a whole by offering non-major courses that fulfill the college’s STEM requirement in the core curriculum in liberal studies.

We encourage professional involvement by faculty and students in the Merrimack Valley community by offering service learning opportunities, seminars and workshops.

Hands On Learning

We want our students to gain practical experience in their areas of interest and offer hands-on learning, also known as experiential learning. Our award-winning Active ScienceĀ® project, for example, promotes health and mobility, enhances teaching and learning in science and educates our undergraduates in community-based research methods.
