Getting The Degree He Wanted and Living Out His Dream
Devon Choi is a proud Double Warrior who earned his bachelor’s degree at Merrimack in Exercise Science. He chose to participate in the M.S. in Athletic Training (MSAT) program accelerated program which allowed him to finish both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Athletic Training in just five years while also preparing him for the Board of Certification Exam. Devon explains, “Merrimack is one of the first schools in Massachusetts to provide the 5-year MSAT program. The program has many connections and affiliations with other schools and healthcare facilities that provided me with valuable hands-on clinical experience, and also allowed me to make connections in the profession.”

Soon after graduating, Devon was prepared to sit for the Board of Certification exam and is now a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Devon is applying the skills he learned during his time at Merrimack to his full-time role as a Body Coach at TB12. Devon plans on continuing to utilize his experience from Merrimack in his career. He states, “My future career goal is to be the best clinician I can be to help as many people as possible, and my degree is my entry ticket to that.”
