“Merrimack provides real life, hands on experience to learning athletic trainers which is pivotal in the development of clinical skills and independence.” Molly is a double warrior at Merrimack College, earning her bachelor’s of science degree in Exercise Science and a master’s degree of science in Athletic Training. While at Merrimack, Molly participated in the athletic training club, Theta Phi Alpha sorority, and the sports management club, serving on the executive board for all organizations at some point during her four years at Merrimack.

“I was proud to represent the Merrimack College Athletic Training program for the first time this summer in Tampa Bay, FL for the duration of the Buccaneer’s NFL Preseason Training Camp. I credit the athletic training staff with Merrimack Football for preparing me for this endeavor, and giving me the essential skills I needed to represent Merrimack at the professional level.”

Merrimack stood out among other programs given it’s accelerated pace and emphasis on clinical application.”

“I was an athletic training intern with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their 2023 Preseason Training camp. During my time with the Buccaneers, I ensured proper hydration and heat safety protocol during practice, collaborated effectively with staff and other interns from multiple healthcare departments to ensure highest quality of patient care, administered and documented athlete treatment and medication intake, and preformed other duties as assigned.”

Molly recounts on a lesson she’s learned from Merrimack College’s faculty. “An important lesson I took from my time at Merrimack is that it’s important to use the structure that the curriculum provides as a jumping off point. It’s important to advocate for yourself and take the reins on your career path and goals/aspirations.”
