Double Warrior Seeks Physician Assistant Degree
Sophia recently graduated from the health science program at Merrimack College with a major in health science and a minor in religious & theological studies. “Having my bachelors degree from Merrimack helps me stand out against others. I have solid experience in the medical field as I took place in an internship at Dermatology Partners during my time at the school. I would not have this experience if it weren’t for the health science advising staff, especially Scott McEnelly.”
While at Merrimack, Sophia was very involved on campus. She was part of the honors program, the ambrose society, austin scholars, the national honor society of leadership and success, and the women’s club soccer team.
“I chose to attend Merrimack College for my undergraduate studies as the College had the most welcoming community. It was the perfect fit for me and it felt like a very comfortable campus when I toured the school.”
Sophia held an internship during her time at Merrimack with Dermatology Partners, Inc. “My role was to observe a Nurse Practitioner in the dermatology clinic during patient visits. I was able to do skin checks and observe biopsy and Moh’s skin cancer procedures.”
“Merrimack College had a strong backbone of an advising staff that was always there for me when I needed help or just had a simple question. All my professors were very personable and were able to assist in life outside of the classroom if needed; this was very useful and helpful as sometimes life outside of school would be overwhelming.”
