In the biochemistry program, you’ll gain key chemical knowledge, lab skills and problem-solving abilities to tackle biological challenges on a molecular level. You’ll also develop creativity, independent thinking and strong communication skills while using advanced lab tools and participating in research on topics like microwave chemistry and smart molecules.

This course is an introduction to the chemistry of carbon. The concepts of bonding, structure and classification of compounds by functional groups, as well as reactions of aliphatic hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohols and ethers.
This chemistry course is for science majors. Topics include aqueous solutions, acids and bases, equilibrium calculations, kinetics, thermodynamics, and electrochemistry. The laboratory offers experiments to supplement the lecture material.
This course presents the foundations and biological applications of thermodynamics and kinetics. The topics covered include the laws of thermodynamics, phase equilibria, chemical equilibrium, ion transport and more.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Merrimack College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.
Merrimack College has been granted Initial Approval status through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing for the operation of its Baccalaureate Degree Registered Nurse Program.
Merrimack admitted its first freshman class of nursing students in fall 2019. To enhance the program and its growth, the College’s brand-new Nursing Center opened in January 2020. Highlights of the new space include high fidelity simulation manikins, six simulation labs, and equipment used in clinical settings, such as IV pumps, hospital beds, oxygen flow meters and a medication administration system.
Offering 20,000 square feet of space, the Nursing Center is a contemporary style structure with two floors of classrooms, study space, laboratories and faculty offices. It supports a variety of health science programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
As part of your nursing major requirements, you’ll clock more than 750 clinical and simulation hours using cutting-edge technology that includes hands-on learning opportunities in simulation labs. You’ll work with simulation manikins, classroom iPads, electronic health records, medication administration systems and more.
Our program offers a tight-knit community with supportive faculty. You’ll develop one-on-one relationships with faculty and gain the mentorship you need to succeed in your nursing career.
