Even with so many extracurriculars on his plate, Bradley has never lost focus of his academics and career pursuits. He is a mass communications major and minors in psychology and religious and theological studies. He is truly passionate about a career in journalism and has worked hard. When Bradley landed his first internship at the Boston Globe, he also started writing for HerCampus.com, The Beacon (Merrimack’s Newspaper), and US College Hockey Online. All of these experiences added to his portfolio and assisted in landing an internship at NESN.
At NESN, Bradley works as the new media intern where he creates, writes, and copy edits content for NESN.com. “Ultimately, I want to work somewhere in sports broadcasting – whether as a SportsCenter anchor on ESPN, a talk show host on Boston Sports, or a national columnist covering the four major sports,” says Bradley. “My hard work and time spent at my internships now will help me get there.” He has harnessed his talents in order to pursue the career that he would like to have after graduation. “The best part about Merrimack is that everyone pushes me to reach my dreams and accomplish my goals,” said Bradley. The student-centered philosophy at Merrimack has given him the chance to gain advising help and respect from his professors, advisors, and mentors. He elaborates, “The resources and expert professional advice and preparation has made the difference in my development and transition from a college student to a real-world working professional.” Merrimack offers these opportunities for students to engage in intellectual pursuits and learn outside of the classroom.
Bradley’s drive and passion for journalism has been enhanced by his involvement on campus, his desire to see the world, and his sense of giving back to his community. This collaboration of clubs, internship experiences, academics, study abroad, and fundraising opportunities, signature of Merrimack, gave him the opportunity to land an internship of a lifetime.
