During his time at Merrimack, Greg was involved in a number of organizations and leadership roles on campus. From Student Government Association, Residence Life, Merrimack Ambassador and Model UN to working in the Campus Ministry and Student Activities Offices. In addition, his interest in public service led him to seek and be accepted as an intern with then-Congressman Bill Delahunt’s district office for two summers while at Merrimack. His involvement, dedication and commitment to public service was one that he took as a personal challenge. This commitment led to national recognition, including Who’s Who among American Colleges and Universities.
Greg continued his education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and ultimately received a master’s degree in political science from Suffolk University. His journey in graduate and post-graduate studies led him to follow his passion and commitment to public service both in Massachusetts and in Washington, D.C. by working in government relations.
In his current role at Gephardt Government Affairs, Greg actively informs clients on congressional legislation and activities, actions by the administration, and keeps them apprised of key legislation (analyzing and interpreting). In addition, he advocates and meets regularly with members of Congress, congressional committees and staff regarding legislative issues and service on a wide range of issues.
What is the best advice you could give current Merrimack students?
The best advice that I would give a current Merrimack student is to be true to yourself, your passions and the journey that you want to take. While we may see one path, don’t be afraid to journey down another. Who knows, that might be the path that was meant for you!
What is your favorite Merrimack memory?
The memories that were some of my favorite while at Merrimack were the ones that I didn’t realize would have such a profound impact on my life. The lifelong friendships that I was fortunate to make, from my first-year August orientation until the end of my senior year, these are the memories that I will and always cherish when I remember my time at Merrimack.
Why are you Merrimack Proud?
When I reflect on my time at Merrimack, I look at where the College has been, where we are presently are and the potential opportunities that might be on the horizon. When I have had the chance to meet with current students and alums, while each of us attended Merrimack at different times throughout the College’s tenure, I believe that we all have the same commitment, dedication and admiration for an institution of higher learning that we all can be truly proud of – Merrimack College!
